This week the Internet was excited to discover the fun you can have simply by googling your birth date along with Rihanna’s name. It’s the most recent in a long line of “internet challenges”, and as opposed to some of the other notable Internet phenomena of the last year – think eating tide pods – I’m not mad at it.
The viral trend originated from Twitter user @ChipdNudePolish, posting ‘Google Rihanna and your birthday to see which outfit you get’. It spawned a series of people sharing their own birthday results, bringing together the internet’s love of astrology, memes, and evidently, Rihanna.
Since her debut release of the RnB party-anthem ‘SOS’ back in 2006, Rihanna has been a fashion icon.
From her initial Barbados glow and island style, to her brilliant red hair in 2010 and the ANTI era of 2016, to the ‘badgal’ we know and love today, she is indisputably one of the most diverse pop-culture icons of the past decade.
This exploration of her countless get-ups coincides with Rihanna’s own birthday, with the signer recently celebrating her 31st birthday yesterday. With a net worth of around 245 million dollars, 67.5 million followers on Instagram, she stands as one of the most influential women in pop-culture.
The Fenty name has built an empire out of her music, makeup and fashion.
